Wandsworth Town Area Guide - SW18
With a population of almost 40,000 Wandsworth is one of the largest towns within Wandsworth borough.
Wandsworth is undergoing very rapid regeneration at the moment, with recent developments such as the regeneration of the Southside Shopping complex, and the upsurge of boutiques and restaurants on Bellevue Road.
The town has a riverside district with pubs and restaurants to eat in, and residents can enjoy Wandsworth Common with its green spaces, lakes and sports facilities.
Getting to and from Wandsworth
Situated South of the Thames and to the West of Lambeth, the town has two large rail stations, Wandsworth Road Station and Wandsworth Common Station, and is also very close to the national rail station at Earlsfield. The nearest tube station is Southfields or East Putney, which are in Zone 3 on the District Line.
Area Guide for Balham - SW12
Balham is seeing a big increase in popularity and affluence as it becomes known as an up and coming district of South West London. It has a very vibrant buzz in the evening, with a good range of restaurants, bars, and clubs in the town centre. Balham has a reasonably-sized town centre with a good selection of shops, and branches of Sainsbury's and Somerfield.
Young professionals are being drawn to Balham because of its lively atmosphere and relatively low prices compared to some of the neighbouring areas. The town is also popular with young families.
Getting to and from Balham
Balham has a rail station with frequent overground services to Victoria. It also has an underground station which is in Zone 3 on the Northern Line.
London Area Guide to Battersea - SW11/SW8
Battersea, on the South Bank of the Thames, is also undergoing major regeneration at the moment. It has many famed attractions, including the soon to be redeveloped Battersea Power Station, the famous Battersea Dogs Home and Battersea Park, one of the oldest parks in London.
Other newer attractions include the Peace Pagoda, which is a children's zoo, and the Battersea Arts Centre and Theatre.
The town has a vibrant bar and restaurant scene with some of the most popular including Battersea Barge, Barrco Cocktail Bar and Cinammon Cay. The town also has a great shopping area around Northcote Road and the junction of Lavender Hill and St John's Road.
Getting to and from Battersea
Located on the South Bank of the Thames, Battersea is in Zone 2 and has its own train station, Battersea Park. The nearest underground station is Vauxhall, in Zone 2 on the Victoria Line.
Area Guide to Earlsfield (SW18) and Southfields (SW18)
Both Earlsfield and Southfields are primarily residential locations with wide leafy roads and many Edwardian properties. Although these two districts are often overlooked in favour of the better known towns such as Wandsworth and Clapham, they both have a wide range of amenities. Earlsfield and Southfields can both offer a good selection of shops and restaurants, and very affordable rental prices.

Earlsfield has a National Rail overground station, and is in Zone 3. Southfields is also in Zone 3 and has an Underground station, which is on the District line.

Area Guide to Tooting (SW17)
Tooting is perhaps most famous for the 1970's sitcom 'Citizen Smith', but in recent years it has built a far more cosmopolitan image. The town has built a contemporary ambience while staying in touch with it's down to earth roots. Tooting has a host of bars, shops, restaurants and two popular indoor markets, and is home to some of the finest Indian cuisine in London.

Tooting Broadway, and Tooting Bec underground stations are both in Zone 3 on the Northern Line.
Area Guide to Putney
Putney is a vibrant, lively town which attracts a good mix of young professionals and families. Putney, which is the home of the Oxford and Cambridge boat race, has a very high proportion of 25-44 year olds within its population. The town has a great range of bars and restaurants, especially at Putney Wharf, and the Exchange Shopping Centre offers a great retail selection.
Getting to and from Putney
Putney has two underground stations, Putney Bridge and East Putney, within Zones 2 and 3 on the District Line, and Putney Station is an overground station with Northern rail services.
